    When we’re not engineering motion platforms — we’re in the pits. 🔧

    … just a normal 30 minutes …

    30:00 — Car enters the zone. Roaring like a wounded animal.
    29:41 — Driver and co-driver jump out. Pale. “I think we broke the left control arm.”
    29:17 — The team takes a decision. Unanimously. Just… a nod. “We got this.”
    27:52 — One disassembling. One hunting for the spare part.
    25:13 — No spare part. Time ticking. You inspect the damage instead.
    21:36 — “Where in the rule book does it say we cannot fix the part?” That’s all it took. The welding arc is already lighting up the sky.
    12:49 — Almost 10 minutes of welding. Co-driver nervously watching the clock. Relentlessly ticking.
    09:23 — One welds. The other change wheels, preps the gravel plate, does the brake oil change. Every second counts.
    05:01 — Spectators gathering. Kids on their fathers’ shoulders. Everyone watching a perfectly synchronised team. Each step, each tool placement — there for a reason. Then the co-driver screams: “5 minutes, team!” Tension rises.
    01:25 — Control arm mounted! Car back on the floor. Ready to go!
    00:23 — And it’s out of the pit zone…

    Both mechanics sit down on the tires. “Phew. Just another Sunday I guess… hey, I’m grabbing a coffee — want some?”

    If you’re not in this world, those 30 minutes probably sound intense but manageable – wondering why are we so emotional…

    30 minutes. Shorter than most useless MS Teams meetings. But don’t let the time deceive you — if you were standing there that day, you wouldn’t need anyone to explain the emotions. You’d see them written on every face.

    This is the spirit of the team behind Immersion Dynamics. The same obsession is channeled in what we do. The motion platform we build — it starts here, in the pits, where every second is either saved or lost.

    Electronic Babysitter – aka Watchdog

    Imagine hiring a babysitter who tackles your toddler to the ground every time they think about doing something risky. Great instincts. Terrible to live with.

    That’s a watchdog during development.

    “But wait, why do you need a babysitter in the first place? Isnt this overcomplicating?”

    The moment you put a human being inside a machine capable of generating real forces – fun stops being the only consideration.🫨

    Here’s the thing about electronics: they can freeze. A processor can hang. A software loop can get stuck. And when that happens, the machine doesn’t know it’s blind. And when motion system is blind… you better run!

    Hence the watchdog! In the final product it’s non-negotiable… but while you’re still building, it fights you at every step: killing the system mid-breakpoint, resetting you just as you’re closing in on a bug.

    So instead of one overprotective babysitter, we built our hardware to grow up in three stages:

    1. No WDG

    pure functionality first. We build, we break, we debug freely. We even test the watchdog logic itself here, just without letting it intervene.

    2. Window WDG

    once the code stabilises, it starts watching timing. Pet it within the window, or it acts. This catches the “system is stuck” class of faults.

    3. Functional WDG

    the final stage. Being alive isn’t enough anymore, the system has to prove it’s doing the right work. This is what ships.

    The watchdog was never the enemy. Introducing it at the wrong time was.

    We are honored to be part of Dewesoft Measurement Conference in April 2026. In events like these, it is clear that high grade measurement equipment plays a cruical role for development and advancement in the entire industry.

    Thanks to DEWESoft devices, we could see the actual G-Forces of Sesta Performante and inspect CAN data through SimCAN system.

    With our proffesional simulation rig, visitors had a chance to experience immersion of forces through their body and adrenaline as if they were on the track – the smell of petrol was missing tho…

    Curiousity and laughter quickly turned into competitive spirit, where teams turned to the white boards to plan each corner carefully – who can get the P1?

    Rally Green Gold 2026

    A Slovenian first — and likely a world first. 🌍

    At the upcoming rally event in Žalec, something happens that we don’t think has ever been done before: amateurs will compete against professional racers at the same time, on the same track.

    The professionals will drive real cars down the real stage.

    Everyone else will drive the exact same stage virtually — on the Quadra Performante, our motion simulator, running a custom-built map of Žalec accurate to 0.2 meters.

    Same track. Same moment. One clock.

    For years we’ve talked about closing the gap between simulation and reality. This is us putting that idea on the start line and letting the stopwatch decide.

    So let’s find out — who’s faster? 😏
